Send job Job Details 16 PhD Candidates (f/m/d) for Challenges in lnfection Research An exceptional opportunity for curious, young scientists to work in a stimulating environment Starting date: as soon as possible Contract Duration: 3 years initially Salary: equivalent E13 (65 %) Closing date: 11.09.2026 We invite applicants to undertake their PhD project at one of the six locations of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI). HZI is Germany’s largest academic institution dedicated to infection research and a member of the Helmholtz Association. It has been at the forefront of the fight against infectious diseases for many years. The program seeks to nurture a new generation of researchers who will use curiosity to combat infectious diseases and improve lives worldwide. 16 PHD CANDIDATES (F/M/D) FOR CHALLENGES IN LNFECTION RESEARCH Eligibility criteria: Applicants should meet the following requirements: A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in life sciences (or related) and an ambitious and innovative mindset, excellent scientific as well as written and oral communication skills in English, and a willingness to work in an intercultural team. We offer: A funded PhD position under the German federal pay scale (equivalent E13 TVöD Bund, 65 %), including health insurance, and 30 days of paid vacation, providing a secure income sufficient for living in Germany with full social benefits.
