These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Funded Science platform, websites, and services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Funded Science ("Funded Science," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
Paid plans are billed on a recurring monthly basis through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on each renewal date until you cancel. You may change or cancel your subscription at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods. Prices may change on prospective notice.
Funded Science aggregates publicly available information from federal and state sources, including Grants.gov and USAspending.gov. We do not represent, warrant, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of these listings. All opportunity data is provided "as-is" from its source. You are responsible for verifying every solicitation, deadline, and amendment directly with the issuing agency before relying on it.
Our proposal style-transfer and matching engine uses generative AI models, including Claude Opus 4.8, to draft outlines, repurpose past text fragments, recommend collaborators, and summarize agency requirements. AI output may contain errors or omissions and is provided for drafting assistance only. Funded Science makes no warranty that AI-generated content complies with any solicitation rubric. The Principal Investigator or applicant is solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all compliance, citation, eligibility, and scientific-accuracy requirements before submission.
You retain all ownership of the proposals, CVs, biosketches, collaborator information, and other materials you upload ("Your Content"). You grant Funded Science a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you — including sending it to our AI and infrastructure subprocessors for matching and drafting. We do not sell Your Content or use it to train third-party models.
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to access it through unauthorized means, reverse-engineering it, reselling access without permission, uploading unlawful or infringing content, or using it to transmit spam or malicious code. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
By configuring active alert profiles and enabling outreach features, you authorize Funded Science to send you automated SMS (via Twilio) and email (via Resend) notifications. Message and data rates may apply. You can adjust or disable alerts in your account, and standard opt-out instructions apply to SMS messages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Funded Science and its affiliates shall not be liable for any missed deadlines, unsuccessful proposals, lost funding, lost profits, or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. The Service is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind.
You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or where required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases; provisions that by their nature should survive (including Sections 4, 5, 9) will survive.
We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date, and continued use constitutes acceptance. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
