This Privacy Policy explains how Funded Science ("Funded Science," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Funded Science platform (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

• Account data: your email address and authentication credentials, managed via Supabase.
• Profile & alert data: organization type, keywords, funding preferences, and phone number for SMS alerts.
• Uploaded materials: past proposals, CVs, biosketches, and collaborator details you provide for AI matching and drafting.
• Payment data: subscription and billing information processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number — Stripe handles payment details directly.
• Usage data: log and diagnostic information generated as you interact with the Service.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to operate and improve the Service: to authenticate you, match you to relevant grant opportunities, generate AI-assisted proposal drafts and collaborator recommendations, process payments, send the alerts you configure, and provide support. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use Your Content to train third-party AI models.

4. Service Providers (Subprocessors)

We share information with trusted subprocessors only as needed to run the Service:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI proposal drafting, scoring, and collaborator matching. Content sent for processing is not used to train Anthropic's models.
• Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
• Twilio — SMS alert delivery.
• Resend — email alert delivery.
• Vercel — application hosting.

We only pass the grant context and materials necessary to perform matching and drafting, and we may disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

5. Data Isolation, Retention & Security

Your uploaded proposals and materials are isolated to your account via row-level security and are never pooled with other tenants or used to fine-tune shared public models. We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. We apply industry-standard safeguards including encrypted transport; however, no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update most profile data directly in the Service, or contact us to exercise these rights. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the address below.

7. SMS & Email Notifications

Phone numbers and email addresses collected via alert configurations are used exclusively to dispatch the opportunity and amendment alerts you enable. Message and data rates may apply to SMS. You may opt out at any time by editing your alert profile or following the opt-out instructions in a message.

8. Cookies & Children's Privacy

We use cookies and similar technologies strictly to keep you signed in and operate the Service, not for third-party advertising. The Service is intended for professional and institutional use and is not directed to individuals under 18; we do not knowingly collect information from children.
