About the role
Stony Brook University seeks a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in Clinical Data Science within Biomedical Informatics. The successful candidate will build an externally funded research program using clinical data, data science, and AI — including EHR-based phenotyping and predictive modeling, machine learning, and foundation models/generative AI for clinical and biomedical applications — while teaching graduate courses, mentoring students, and bridging methodological work with real-world clinical impact across Stony Brook Medicine and engineering units.
Candidates need a PhD (or equivalent) in Biomedical Informatics, AI, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or an MD with clinical informatics/data science training, or a relevant Master's degree.
