About the role

The University of Washington Department of Bioengineering is recruiting two tenure-track Assistant Professors to begin September 2027 in Seattle, Washington. These are full-time, nine-month positions. Research areas span molecular through organ-scale bioengineering, including synthetic biology, biomaterials, tissue engineering, computational approaches, and translational medicine, with successful candidates expected to build interdisciplinary collaborations across engineering, medicine, and quantitative sciences. Applicants must hold a PhD in Bioengineering or a related field (an MD is also acceptable) and be prepared to develop an internationally recognized, extramurally funded research program while contributing to teaching and service. The salary range is $8,500-$13,000 per month, commensurate with experience.
