Associate Professor or above with expertise in computational modeling of human tissues
University of Southern California (USC) · Los Angeles, California
About the role
The Department of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC), in partnership with the USC Stevens School of Computing and Artificial Intelligence, invite applications for a tenured faculty position at the level of Associate Professor or above with expertise in computational modeling of human tissues. We seek candidates who develop computational frameworks to understand, predict, and control tissue-scale dynamics by integrating mechanistic and data-driven approaches across molecular, cellular, and tissue scales. Particular interest will be given to candidates whose research is relevant to the cardiovascular system. The successful candidate will lead the computational pillar of the new USC Center for Stem Cell Engineering (https://stemcelleng.usc.edu/), a joint initiative between the Department of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine and the Alfred E. Mann Department of Biomedical Engineering. The Center integrates microphysiological systems, organoids, synthetic biology, and computational frameworks to develop predictive human tissue models and programmable cell therapies. Applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, 2- to 3-page statement of past, present, and future research, and contact information for four references to https://facultypositions.usc.edu/FAS/application/position?postingId=REQ20173797. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with priority to those submitted by August 31, 2026. USC values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity in employment. Women and men, and members of all racial and ethnic groups are encouraged to apply.
