About the role

The University of British Columbia is hiring a tenure-track Assistant Professor through the Canada Impact+ Emerging Leaders initiative, for a candidate who will establish and lead a research program in Global Health Engineering and Equitable Health Technologies. The role spans engineering, health sciences, clinical medicine, and public health, developing medical devices, diagnostics, biosensors, digital health, and AI-enabled solutions, and partnering with healthcare providers and communities to evaluate technology, alongside teaching and mentoring in the Department of Medicine and School of Biomedical Engineering. Candidates need an MD and/or PhD, eligibility for an Assistant Professor appointment at UBC, and Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration or Limited Licensee status with Engineers and Geoscientists BC. Preferred qualifications include research excellence in biomedical engineering, healthcare technology translation experience, and a track record building partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
