About the role

The Extreme Light Infrastructure ERIC is seeking a Director General to lead Europe's flagship high-power laser research infrastructure, spanning facilities at ELI Beamlines in Dolní Břežany, Czech Republic, and ELI ALPS in Szeged, Hungary. The role involves leading and uniting ELI as an effective, inclusive, high-performing international organization, providing scientific leadership to advance ELI's scientific vision and excellence, overseeing financial, human resources, and organizational management, and reporting to the General Assembly on performance and finances. Candidates should hold an advanced university degree in physics, engineering, or another closely relevant scientific field, have significant senior leadership experience in a complex scientific, research, technology, or international organization, a strong understanding of large-scale research infrastructure governance, and excellent written and spoken English. Compensation is an attractive remuneration and benefits package commensurate with leadership positions at major European research facilities.
