Lille Neuroscience & Cognition (a collaborative project between the Lille Neuroendocrinology and TREAT teams) is offering a 3-year PhD studentship investigating extracellular matrix (ECM) alterations following intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and their contribution to haematoma clearance, tissue repair, brain metabolism, and cognitive decline. The project involves developing a mouse ICH model based on established rat models, characterizing ECM alterations using human brain samples, and experimentally modulating ECM remodeling to assess impacts on recovery.
Candidates need a master's degree (or equivalent), preferably in neurovascular research, with essential prior experience in animal research (particularly rodent handling) and a strong interest in microsurgery. The position starts November/December 2026, supervised by Virginie Mattot and Vincent Berezowski, with remuneration according to profile.
