About the role

The Ellison Institute of Technology's Plant Biology Institute (led by Prof Steve Kelly) is hiring a Mass Spectrometry Laboratory Technician to support LC-MS and GC-MS workflows. Responsibilities include running GC-MS/LC-MS analyses, preparing biological samples, data acquisition and processing, consulting with researchers on experimental design, training users on instrument operation, and handling instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting, plus managing supplier relationships for servicing. Essential requirements include a BSc in chemistry or analytical chemistry, demonstrated experience operating and troubleshooting mass spectrometry and chromatography instrumentation, and experience preparing biological samples for MS analysis. Desirable skills include GC-MS method optimization, proficiency in R/MATLAB/Python, and a background in metabolomics or plant science. This is a full-time, permanent position.
