About the role
Vulcan Elements is hiring a Mechanical Systems Engineer (Water) at its Benson, NC rare-earth magnet production facility. The role is technical owner for the facility's cooling water and industrial gas systems, covering design, specification, installation, commissioning, and startup of chillers, pumps, and heat exchangers, plus field engineering support during construction and ongoing reliability troubleshooting.
Requirements include a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline, experience with cooling water/industrial gas systems in a manufacturing setting, ability to read P&IDs and mechanical drawings, and U.S. Person status (an export control requirement). Desired qualifications include chilled water system and commissioning experience, cooling water chemistry knowledge, AutoCAD/Bluebeam, and PE/EIT certification.
