About the role
Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting a postdoctoral associate to study how infection leaves durable epigenetic and transcriptional scars that shape long-term immunity, inflammation, and lung repair. The lab combines single-cell transcriptomics, epigenomic profiling (e.g., ATAC-seq), CRISPR-based perturbation, and human cohort phenotyping to dissect post-infectious and post-tuberculosis lung disease mechanisms, working with patient samples from sepsis, pneumonia, and tuberculosis cohorts.
Candidates need an MD or PhD in a basic science, health science, or related field; no prior postdoctoral experience is required, though a PhD in immunology or a related discipline with strong statistics, epigenetics, and R/Python skills is preferred. The position is based in Houston, Texas, with applications due October 14, 2026.
