About the role

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE position is available immediately to join the research group of Dr. Jeffrey D. Cirillo at Texas A&M University, developing REFtb, a rapid tuberculosis diagnostic platform based on the M. tuberculosis enzyme BlaC and fluorogenic substrate chemistry. Selected individual will be responsible for developing and optimizing REFtb diagnostic reagents, including expression, purification, and kinetic characterization of BlaC and related beta-lactamases, and evaluation of fluorogenic substrate selectivity and assay performance in clinical sample matrices. Ph.D. required and a record of productive experience in enzymology, assay optimization, and/or reagent stabilization (lyophilization) preferred.
