About the role
The Garcia group at the University of Helsinki's Institute of Biotechnology is hiring a postdoctoral researcher to investigate how toxic repeat-expansion RNAs disrupt cellular energy metabolism in neurodegenerative and neuromuscular disorders such as ALS and myotonic dystrophy. The role involves original research in C. elegans and mammalian cell systems to identify metabolomic disruptions and dissect underlying mechanisms through genetic and biochemical approaches. Candidates need a PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, or a related life-sciences field, with experience in RNA methodologies such as RNA isolation, quality control, gene expression analysis, or RNA sequencing; microscopy, transcriptomics, bioinformatics, and C. elegans experience are desirable.
