About the role
Postdoctoral Research Fellow / Research Fellow in Agricultural Systems Assessment at the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI), University of Queensland, St Lucia, Brisbane. Full-time, fixed-term for up to 2 years.
The role is to lead agricultural systems assessment research, particularly sorghum production research through the SorGain program (co-funded by GRDC and UQ): conducting evidence syntheses and meta-analyses using qualitative, mixed-method and machine-learning approaches, leading stakeholder research with growers and advisers, supervising honours and research students, and coordinating project activities and publications. Requires a PhD in agronomy, crop science, farming systems or a related field, expertise in crop agronomy and broadacre farming systems, experience with adaptive/participatory research, and proficiency in R, Python or equivalent. Unrestricted Australian work rights required. Closes 25 October 2026.
