About the role
The Meletis laboratory at the Karolinska Institute is hiring a postdoctoral fellow to investigate how neural circuits and neuron subtypes control motivated behavior and decision-making, using optogenetics, imaging, and behavioral testing in mouse models including stress and mood disorders. The role requires advanced circuit approaches to target, record, and manipulate genetically defined neuron subtypes. Candidates need extensive experience in circuit and systems neuroscience, strong backgrounds in behavioral analysis, optical imaging, or electrophysiology, advanced quantitative and programming skills, and at least one first-author publication; the scholarship is restricted to international researchers relocating to Sweden and funds up to two years within four years post-doctorate.
