Area of research:Other Starting date:06.08.2026 Job description:Your Responsibilities: Conduct research on and contribute to the further development of lithium-metal batteries as part of an international team of leading German and US scientists. Perform experimental investigations of gas evolution in lithium-metal batteries under controlled heating conditions. Conduct post-mortem analyses of reaction products to identify reaction mechanisms and the initial heat sources preceding potential thermal runaway. Collaborate closely with experimental and simulation partners in an interdisciplinary research environment, including research stays abroad. Identify dominant reaction mechanisms and process networks through interdisciplinary collaboration. Contribute directly to improving the safety and stability of lithium-metal batteries. Publish research results in scientific journals and project reports. Present research findings at national and international scientific conferences. Opportunity to pursue a PhD.
