About the role
Roche/Genentech is hiring a (Senior) Scientist, Protein Engineering in Shanghai to perform protein engineering driving therapeutic antibody lead selection, design, and optimization. Responsibilities include executing display libraries (phage, yeast, in vitro) for antibody optimization, developing and implementing computational/AI-ML tools for protein engineering, coordinating with CROs, and supporting due diligence for external technology licensing. Requires a PhD in Protein Engineering, Biophysics, Structural Biology, or a related field, 3+ years post-doctoral or industry experience, expertise in antibody humanization, affinity maturation, and developability optimization, and hands-on molecular biology techniques (cloning, mutagenesis, library construction).
