About the role
Ultima Genomics is hiring a Senior Scientist, Surface Chemistry to develop and optimize surface-modified substrates for its sequencing technology, linking chemical processes to product performance through Design of Experiments and quality-control frameworks. The role covers organosilane chemistries, self-assembled monolayers, and biomolecule attachment methods, along with metrology (AFM, ellipsometry, XPS) and microfabrication troubleshooting, working cross-functionally with chemistry, biology, and engineering teams. Requires a relevant degree (PhD preferred) and 3-8+ years of industry experience in commercial product development. Onsite in Fremont, CA.
