About the role
The University of Copenhagen's Section for Computational and RNA Biology is hiring a Staff Scientist to lead the MINDtheCAP research project, investigating a new role of RNA caps in intellectual disability. Responsibilities include planning and carrying out the project against its scientific objectives, milestones, budget, and reporting requirements; analyzing high-throughput sequencing data and refining bioinformatic workflows; coordinating with lab staff and collaborators (including supervising junior researchers); and preparing publications, presentations, and grant reports.
Candidates need a Master's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, RNA biology, or a related field, with experience in RNA biology, capping, or biochemistry, proficiency in molecular biology lab techniques, and the ability to analyze transcriptomic data using bioinformatic tools. Project management and supervision experience is a plus. This is a full-time, fixed-term position (January 1, 2027 – December 31, 2028, 37 hours/week); applications close October 14, 2026.
