About the role
UAMS's Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology is hiring full-time, tenure-track faculty at the Assistant Professor level (higher ranks considered for exceptional candidates). Successful candidates will establish and sustain an independent, externally funded research program, publish in high-impact journals, build interdisciplinary collaborations, and mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The department particularly welcomes investigators working in cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic pharmacology; cancer biology, cancer pharmacology and environmental toxicology; or neuropharmacology, neurovascular injury and substance use disorders, using molecular, cellular, genetic, systems, computational, or translational approaches.
Requires a Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree and at least two years of postdoctoral research experience, with a research record appropriate to career stage. Candidates holding competitive fellowships or NIH K99/R00 awards are especially encouraged to apply.
