About the role
Novartis is hiring an Upstream Process (USP) Research Scientist II in Basel, Switzerland to support mammalian cell culture production of therapeutic proteins and antibodies. Responsibilities include operating Wave Systems bioreactors, expanding suspension cell cultures from lab to pilot scale, designing experiments to optimize upstream bioprocessing, and maintaining sterile laboratory conditions. Requires a Master's degree in Life Sciences with industry bioprocessing/cell-culture experience, hands-on mammalian cell technology and sterile-technique expertise, and English fluency (German a plus); molecular biology or downstream-processing experience is a bonus.
