About the role
The University of Bonn's Cluster of Excellence PhenoRob (Robotics and Phenotyping for Sustainable Crop Production) is hiring 3 Junior Research Group Leaders to design and build independent, internationally visible research groups within an interdisciplinary program on sustainable agriculture. The cluster welcomes applicants from robotics, mobile sensing, geodesy, machine learning, plant phenotyping, soil science, crop science, ecology, and ecosystem modeling. Responsibilities include publishing in high-ranked venues, building research demonstrators, attracting additional funding, and leading small teams including PhD students.
Candidates should hold postdoctoral researcher status with a strong publication record and a capacity for independent scholarship and interdisciplinary collaboration. Positions are fixed-term from 2027 through December 31, 2032, with potential for permanent employment, and each comes with two funded PhD positions plus lab and field-experiment access.
