About the role

Northwestern University's Biomedical Engineering Department is hiring two tenure-track faculty (Assistant or Associate Professor), one in Regenerative Engineering (biomaterials, cell engineering, tissue engineering) and one in Computational Biomechanics (at the intersection of rehabilitation, neural engineering, and AI, applied to neural, sensory, and musculoskeletal systems). Outstanding candidates across the broader field of biomedical engineering are also encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include developing an independently funded research program, teaching undergraduate and graduate students, and departmental service. A PhD or equivalent degree is required; interdisciplinary candidates from neuroscience, biology, or medicine are welcome if grounded in engineering principles. H-1B sponsorship is available. This is a nine-month academic appointment based at Evanston and Chicago campuses, with a target start date of September 1, 2027 (negotiable) and rolling review until filled.
