About the role
The Salk Institute for Biological Studies seeks tenure-track Assistant Professors whose research addresses fundamental questions about the biological mechanisms influencing health, resilience, adaptation, and variation. Candidates should focus on comparative physiology, evolutionary biology and medicine, healthy aging, resilience, or disease heterogeneity — including cancer, neurological disorders, developmental/early-stage disease, metabolic disorders, and infectious disease — using experimental, computational, engineering, or quantitative approaches.
Applicants need a PhD and/or MD, a CV, a 3-4 page research proposal connecting to health, resilience, and adaptation biology, and three letters of recommendation submitted via Interfolio. Salary range is $135,000 to $150,000 with a generous start-up package and comprehensive benefits; pay varies with qualifications, scope, and market conditions.
