About the role
The Department of Genetics at the University of Georgia is recruiting an Associate Professor/Professor to start August 1, 2027. The successful candidate will establish or maintain an internationally recognized, externally funded research program advancing fundamental understanding of biological systems through genetic, genomic, evolutionary, molecular, computational, or quantitative approaches, with synthetic biology, biotechnology, and biological engineering applications particularly valued. Duties include mentoring graduate students and postdocs and participating in undergraduate and graduate education.
Applicants need a PhD or equivalent terminal degree in genetics, genomics, biology, computational biology, bioengineering, or a related discipline, plus a research, scholarship, teaching, and professional achievement record commensurate with the Associate Professor or Professor rank. Submit a cover letter, CV, a 2-page research interests statement, and a 2-page teaching/mentoring statement; full consideration deadline is November 1, 2026.
