The Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (MPI-PKS) in Dresden is seeking a Distinguished PKS Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct independent studies in theoretical physics, spanning areas such as ultracold gases, quantum optics, correlated electrons, biological physics, and non-equilibrium physics. Fellows are featured on the institute's main research page and given freedom to pursue their own research direction.
Candidates must hold a PhD and at least one year of postdoctoral experience at an institution other than where they earned their PhD (exceptions possible for exceptional candidates straight out of a PhD). The appointment runs two years, renewable for a third. Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, publication list highlighting three key papers, a statement of research interests/proposal, and three reference letters.
