About the role

The Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research is hiring up to 10 Postdoctoral Research Fellows across Bristol, London (King's College, Imperial, UCL), and Manchester for a 3-year fixed-term fellowship (start 1 October 2027) that splits time equally between independent research and the Institute's classified research program addressing UK security challenges. Positions are primarily in pure mathematics, with 2 posts in data science/quantum computing at Bristol. Requires a PhD in pure mathematics, data science, quantum information, or a related field, UK residency with UK or dual UK nationality, and willingness to obtain national security clearance (including availability in the UK for pre-vetting calls 26 Nov-8 Dec 2026).
