About the role
The University of Manchester's Department of Chemistry (School of Natural Sciences) is hiring a Research Associate in Materials Chemistry to develop ultra-thin polymer-based membranes and fluidic chips using polymers of intrinsic porosity, for applications in ionic gating and molecular separation. The role includes conducting original research, international collaboration, developing research proposals, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and mentoring students.
Essential qualifications include a PhD (or near completion) in electrochemistry, polymer science, or membranes, with significant experience in electrochemical measurements, nanofabrication, and ultrathin membrane characterization. Nanofluidics, clean-room work with 2D materials, and biomolecule sequencing experience are desirable. Based at the Oxford Road campus.
