The University of Edinburgh's Higgs Centre for Theoretical Physics (School of Physics and Astronomy) is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on applications of scattering amplitudes and the double copy to gauge theory and gravity, including large gauge transformations, classical observables in scattering and bound systems, and amplitudes in time-dependent spacetimes. The researcher will join the ERC Advanced Grant project "Classical and Semiclassical Aspects of Amplitudes," led by Donal O'Connell, with collaboration opportunities among the project team.
The position is a three-year fixed-term appointment from September 1, 2027 through August 31, 2030, full-time (35 hrs/week), paid Grade UE07 at £41,064 to £48,822 annually. Application deadline is November 27, 2026.
