About the role
The University of Manchester is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate (Neuroscience) for an 18-month fixed-term, full-time post based at the Oxford Road campus. The researcher will conduct original research exploring the immunological basis of hypothalamic maturation, investigating how immune system activity shapes brain circuits that control sleep-wake cycles, including surgical procedures and behavioral studies with mice, data collection and analysis, publication authorship, and grant-writing.
Requires a PhD in neuroscience, behavioral science, sleep, or a related field, a track record as first/corresponding author on high-impact publications, and expertise in electrophysiology, behavioral analysis, sleep research, and in vivo genetic techniques, plus demonstrated project and team leadership.
