About the role
Entry-level, on-site integrated photonics role based at AFRL and the Innovare Advancement Center on the Rome Griffiss Institute campus in Rome, NY, supporting research by the Technergetics Quantum Team. The engineer assists with the development and characterization of photonic systems for heterogeneous quantum networks, optical sensing, and communication - including design, simulation, and optimization of integrated photonic devices and circuits for quantum information processing using tools such as Ansys Lumerical or COMSOL, integration of photonics with light sources, detectors, and control systems, and participation in tape-outs and device testing under the guidance of senior engineers. U.S. citizenship is required due to the security clearance required for the position.
