Principal Mechanical Engineer - Optical Payloads

BlackSky Geospatial Solutions is hiring a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design and integration of optical payloads into satellite structures, ensuring partner-developed payloads meet mechanical requirements across the program lifecycle. Responsibilities include CAD design (Creo) of spacecraft structures and components, producing engineering documentation and bills of materials, supporting manufacturing teams in resolving build issues, and developing tooling, fixtures, and ground support equipment. Requires a BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline, 12+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience, a background in optical systems mechanical design and space systems requirements, CAD proficiency, and ANSI Y14.5 knowledge. U.S. Person status is required for ITAR compliance. Hybrid role based in Tukwila, WA (2-3 days/week on-site).
