The Karst laboratory in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the University of Florida is hiring a postdoctoral associate to study how the early-life environment programs long-term metabolic health — specifically how bile acid signaling during infancy shapes adipose tissue development and adult metabolic outcomes. Work includes mouse model studies, metabolic phenotyping, flow cytometry and cell sorting, lineage tracing, and single-cell genomic and epigenomic techniques.
Candidates need a PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree in biomedical sciences with a strong hypothesis-driven research background; prior molecular, cellular, or in vivo experience relevant to metabolic disease is preferred. The position is on-site at UF's Gainesville campus (not remote) and requires a criminal background check.
