About the role
This is a 4-year fixed-term Postdoctoral Research Associate post in the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences at the University of Reading, within a Leverhulme Trust-funded project, 'Literacy in the Digital Age', directed by Dr Yaling Hsiao. The successful candidate will lead core research on reading and writing development in children aged 11-14 across print and digital media, using longitudinal school testing, experimental paradigms, and statistical modelling.
Responsibilities include conducting longitudinal research with school-aged populations, managing research assistants, mentoring PhD students, and liaising with partner schools. Candidates should have strong quantitative/computational skills (R, Python, linear mixed models, or deep learning) and expertise in literacy development or psycholinguistics.
