About the role
Cardiff University's UK Dementia Research Institute (College of Biomedical and Life Sciences, School of Medicine) is hiring a Research Associate to study neuroinflammation and complement biology in Alzheimer's disease and dementia using multi-omics approaches (transcriptomics, proteomics, spatial profiling). The role involves generating and analyzing multi-omics brain datasets, integrating large-scale data, and validating findings using human iPSC-derived microglia, astrocytes, and neuronal models.
A background in complement biology, immunology, or Alzheimer's research is preferred, with expertise in omics analysis, bioinformatics, iPSC-derived models, or molecular and cellular biology highly desirable. This is a 1-year fixed-term role (Grade 6) at Cardiff University's Heath Campus starting November 1, 2026, paying £41,064 to £46,049 per annum. Application deadline October 28, 2026.
