About the role

Illumina is hiring a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist, hybrid in Cambridge, UK, to develop and advance DRAGEN, Illumina's secondary analysis platform for next-generation sequencing, focused on algorithms and biomarkers for clinical oncology. Responsibilities include improving algorithms for somatic variant calling and tumor biomarker detection, prototyping NGS algorithms for oncology applications such as minimal residual disease (MRD), running experiments with R&D teams, and advising internal and external stakeholders. Candidates should have a background in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, or mathematics, with deep expertise in at least two of: statistics, bioinformatics methods, NGS analysis, C++ development, or oncology.
