About the role

The Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience at the University of Florida is hiring a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in one of two research areas: Technology-Driven Integrative Physiology (connecting molecular, cellular, neural, biomechanical, or developmental mechanisms to organismal function) or AI-Enabled Cell, Molecular, or Genomic Biology (applying advanced AI/ML and computational approaches to biological questions). A joint appointment with a UF department such as Biology, Chemistry, Soil and Water Science, or the College of Medicine is possible. The successful candidate will conduct research leveraging marine organisms to address fundamental biological questions with applications to human health, natural resources, and the environment, joining the lab's interdisciplinary research mission at its newly renovated facility. Salary is commensurate with education and experience; the university offers a competitive startup package and relocation support. Application deadline is December 13, 2026.
