About the role

The Whitehead Institute and MIT seek an Assistant Professor to launch an independent research program beginning July 1, 2027. Candidates should hold an M.D. or Ph.D. in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline and pursue innovative approaches to fundamental problems in molecular, cellular, or organismal biology. The position combines research leadership with teaching and mentoring, developing undergraduate and graduate courses and supervising student researchers; the institute provides lab/office space, a startup package, and access to core facilities.
