About the role
McGill University is recruiting a tenure-track Assistant Professor in RNA Therapeutics and Engineering, jointly in the Departments of Biochemistry and Biomedical Engineering, aligned with McGill's CFREF initiative in RNA discovery and therapeutics. The role spans mRNA vaccines, RNA delivery systems, genome editing, and cell-based therapeutics, with responsibilities to develop an independent, externally funded research program, establish interdisciplinary collaborations, supervise trainees at all levels, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and pursue knowledge translation and commercialization opportunities.
Candidates must hold a PhD (or equivalent) in biochemistry, molecular or cellular biology, biomedical engineering, bioengineering, chemical biology, genomics, or biophysics, be within five years of their first research appointment, and be internationally based (working and residing outside Canada) at the time of application. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience; the position is based in Montreal, Quebec, with an application deadline of November 10, 2026.
