About the role

The National Cancer Institute's Center for Cancer Research is recruiting a Chief, Laboratory of Pathology — a department-chair-equivalent position combining clinical leadership, research, and education in cancer pathology at NIH. The Chief will direct anatomic pathology services across NIH institutes (surgical pathology, molecular diagnostics, flow cytometry, hematopathology), lead an ACGME-accredited three-year pathology residency, and run an independent, grant-free-funded research program. Candidates must hold an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree, be board-certified pathologists, and have a demonstrated record of leadership, mentoring, and research. U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or appropriate work authorization is required. Salary is commensurate with experience; the position is based in Bethesda, MD.
