About the role
Ellison Institute of Technology is seeking an experienced Fluidics System Engineer/Scientist to help develop next-generation diagnostic technology. The role involves designing, developing, and improving microfluidic systems and cartridge architectures for automated instrumentation, translating biological assay requirements into practical microfluidic designs, prototyping with techniques like soft lithography and machining, and testing cartridge performance to identify failure modes.
Candidates need a BSc/BEng in Engineering, Physics, or Bioengineering with a microfluidics specialization, 4+ years of experience in microfluidics or lab-on-chip systems, understanding of fluid behavior at small scales, CAD proficiency, and hands-on prototyping/testing experience. Experience with automated platform design, sample preparation workflows, or biological samples (blood, sputum) is a plus. The role is based in Oxford, UK, and requires permanent UK work rights.
