About the role

DTU Construct (Technical University of Denmark) is recruiting a PhD candidate to develop cement-free living building materials for sustainable construction, working on fungal-bacterial co-cultivation systems, microbial biomineralization, bio-based hydrogels and 3D-printable bio-inks. The role involves designing experiments, analyzing results with advanced characterization techniques, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and collaborating internationally including with TU Delft. Hands-on experience with fungal cultivation and microbiological techniques is required; MICP experience and 3D printing knowledge are a plus. Three-year, full-time position starting February 2027 (or by agreement), salary per the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations collective agreement.
