About the role

The VIB-KU Leuven Center for Microbiology's Laboratory for Genome Editing and System Genetics is hiring a full-time Postdoc in Computational Genomics and High-throughput Genome Editing for a 2-year contract, ideally starting February–May 2027. The role focuses on computational analysis of large-scale genomics datasets, developing approaches to analyze how synonymous mutations affect gene expression and cellular phenotypes, identifying patterns, building predictive models, and collaborating with experimental researchers. Requires a Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, systems biology, genomics, computer science, or a related quantitative field, with advanced computational/statistical expertise (machine learning experience a plus); prior experience with high-throughput mutagenesis data is advantageous but not required. Applicants submit a CV, one-page motivation letter, and two referee contacts via jobs.vib.be/apply/138005. Deadline: December 15, 2026, or until filled.
