About the role

Postdoctoral Researcher Openings The Ainslie Lab (https://ainslielab.web.unc.edu/) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has two postdoctoral researcher openings. We are seeking motivated scientists — including engineers, chemists, biochemists, and immunologists — to contribute to exciting interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of immunology and drug delivery. Projects are supported by two NIH-funded grants: 1. Development of biomaterials to modulate CAR-T/NKT cells for glioblastoma therapy and immune mechanistic evaluation of epitope spreading. 2. Evaluation of mechanistic tolerogenic pathways invoked by biomaterials for generation of an inverse vaccine to treat multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune diseases. We investigate these applications both in vitro and in vivo. Candidates with a background in one or more of the following techniques are encouraged to apply: flow cytometry, animal models, mammalian cell culture, ELISA, immune-cell isolation and culture, vaccines, drug delivery systems, immunological assays, and in vivo evaluation of therapeutic or vaccine candidates. Experience with flow cytometry and animal studies is particularly desirable. Postdoctoral researchers will join a collaborative, interdisciplinary team and receive hands-on training across the full research process, including formulation development, physicochemical characterization, cell-based assays, immunological mechanistic studies, animal studies, and translational evaluation. The Ainslie Lab is based in the heart of the medical campus at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, located in the Research Triangle (Chapel Hill – Raleigh – Durham). The Research Triangle is home to more than 675 life-science companies, 24,000 industry employees, and nearly $10 billion in regional economic output, offering exceptional access to leading academic, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and translational research partners. Start date: Immediate to flexible Interested applicants should submit a cover letter and curriculum vitae to Dr. Eric Bachelder at ebacheld@email.unc.edu with the subject line "Postdoctoral Researcher Position."
