About the role

This is a full-time, fixed-term (24-month) Translational Research Scientist post in the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) at the University of Oxford, based at the Kennedy Institute, which combines discovery science and early-stage clinical research on chronic inflammatory and musculoskeletal disease. The team runs histopathological and omics analyses on samples from industry-sponsored clinical studies to understand disease pathways and new treatment targets. Unlike a traditional postdoctoral research associate track, this role is not aimed at an independent academic career: the postholder will provide advanced technical and scientific expertise to set up, deliver, and sustain research projects, focusing on collaborative research and the development, optimisation, and maintenance of methodologies, facilities, and shared resources. Salary is £49,119 - £58,265 per annum (Grade 8, inclusive of Oxford University Weighting).
