Dr. Juan M. Pascual's lab in Pediatric Neurology at Weill Cornell Medicine in Manhattan is hiring a Postdoctoral Associate for an NIH-funded project on cerebellar electrophysiology and imaging in a mouse model of GLUT1 deficiency ataxia, and on a Rif1 mutation that produces enhanced motor performance, examining how chronic glucose metabolism disruption affects cerebellar circuits. Responsibilities include conducting independent and collaborative research with in vitro and in vivo preparations, combining electrophysiological, pharmacological, and imaging-based approaches, managing data collection and analysis, preparing manuscripts, presenting at conferences, and supervising lab personnel as needed.
Requires a Ph.D. or equivalent in neuroscience, physiology, or a related field, two years of published brain slice electrophysiology experience, and published experience with quantitative analysis and scientific programming; three letters of recommendation are required, including one from the doctoral advisor. Imaging experience in acute brain slices and published MATLAB or Python proficiency are preferred. Compensation is $75,812 per year plus full benefits.
