About the role

The Chandra Lab at the Francis Crick Institute is recruiting a Senior Laboratory Research Scientist (postdoctoral level), a permanent, full-time position, to lead research on genetic engineering of transgenic acoel worms. Duties include designing experiments for stable transgenic line development, molecular biology and embryo microinjection work, maintaining transgenic colonies, managing animal husbandry and sea water systems, and supporting lab operations including equipment maintenance and onboarding new staff. Candidates need a PhD in molecular biology or a related field, expertise in genetic engineering, embryo microinjection experience, and a peer-reviewed publication record; experience with marine invertebrates or non-model organisms is desirable. Salary is from £47,080 with benefits, subject to skills and experience.
