About the role

The Francis Crick Institute is hiring a Computational Biologist for the Malanchi Lab, part of a five-year ERC Synergy-funded research programme. The role analyzes and integrates large-scale genomic datasets including bulk and single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, methylome, and proteomic data, going beyond data analysis to influence experimental design and translate computational findings into testable biological hypotheses. Duties include developing computational approaches to answer biological questions, maintaining bioinformatics tools and databases, ensuring data quality, and communicating findings through presentations and publications. Candidates should hold a degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field with a scientific background, strong programming ability (Python, R, Java, C/C++, or Perl), hands-on experience with next-generation sequencing and single-cell RNA-seq analysis, proficiency in UNIX/Linux, and database management experience. This is a full-time, fixed-term position.
