Forward Deployed Researcher - Data as a Service

Snorkel AI is hiring Forward Deployed Researchers to partner directly with frontier AI labs' research teams on their hardest data problems: scoping training-data needs, designing RL environments and tasks, building evaluation frameworks and quality rubrics, probing model behavior to surface failure modes, and benchmarking frontier models against Snorkel's datasets to produce pass-rate analysis, failure-mode breakdowns, and purchase recommendations. The role owns a technical domain end-to-end, acting as a customer-facing research thought partner throughout the engagement while staying current on RL environment design, post-training techniques (RLHF, DPO, RLAIF), and evaluation methodology. Requires a B.S. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field with 4+ years of applied ML research or technical experience (advanced degree preferred), Python proficiency and familiarity with ML frameworks/LLM APIs, and customer-facing or collaborative research experience. Hybrid in New York City, Redwood City, or San Francisco, or fully remote within the US; salary range is $180,000-$300,000 depending on location, experience, and qualifications, with eligibility for health/dental coverage and equity grants.
